# Perch

> Perch is a free, native macOS menu bar app that shows your next Google Calendar meeting as a live countdown (`Standup in 12m`) and joins the video call in one click. It is pure AppKit, roughly 3 MB to download, reads your calendar with two read-only scopes, keeps tokens in the macOS Keychain, and collects no data.

Perch does one job: the glance. It is not a calendar app, and it is not trying to become one. If you want to know when your next meeting is without opening anything, and be in the room one click later, that is the entire product.

Key facts, for quick reference:

- Price: free. No subscription, no trial, no paid tier, no account with us.
- Platform: macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. Universal binary, Apple Silicon and Intel.
- Calendar backend: Google Calendar, via the Google Calendar API, using two granular read-only scopes: `calendar.calendarlist.readonly` and `calendar.events.readonly`.
- Joins: Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex.
- Telemetry in the app: none. Traffic is Google's API, the Sparkle update check, and public website icons for connected-account domains when the Account settings tab loads. The email's local part is never sent for icon lookup.
- Current version: 1.7.2.
